For this photo essay I would capture a photo in the same spot/location over a period of days. Ideally I will do this in an area that has a lot of foot traffic, in order to capture as many people as possible. These would be places like a park, downtown, or another busy spot like Old Milford.
The goal is to capture as many moments as possible. I think this could communicate a lot of things, like how many moments happen for different people in the exact same spot. I could capture people who are having a nice day with their family or even someone having a not so good day with their family. This photo essay could show how one spot/location changes everyday depending on the people there.
Like I said before I would take pictures in one specific location that is typically very busy. I might try a few just to make sure I get the photos I want. Some ideas of places I have are parks, downtown, Mariemont, and Old Milford. I would do my best to take the photo from the exact same spot every time.
These test shots are taken at all different places (2 are from different areas of Old Milford).
The second idea I have for this essay is capturing a person's "daily routine." I would photograph someone getting ready (putting on makeup, clothes etc.) to go out somewhere. I think this could communicate either the excitement a person feels when getting ready or the annoyance they feel about having to do so many things to get ready to go out, depending on the person I photograph. Either one would communicate a lot of emotion to the viewer. I would then photograph the person coming home and taking everything off. I think this definitely could evoke a lot of different emotions as well. The main point is capturing whichever emotions the person who is being photographed is feeling.
I would photograph the person maybe blowdrying their hair after their shower, putting on their makeup, and looking at their outfit in the mirror. I could even try to take a portrait of them after they're all ready to go to capture the emotion they are feeling in the moment. I would then take photos of them after they have gone out, taking off their makeup, changing into their pjs, and maybe even capturing them in a portrait to look at their emotional state again.
For these test shots I photographed myself but for the actual essay I would photograph someone else of course.
